Celebration, Reflection & Looking Ahead

December is a time for celebration and reflection, a chance to cherish the moments with loved ones and look ahead to what the new year will bring. I’m so thankful for the continued support from the Sumter community this year. It’s been a privilege to help protect your homes, cars, and families.

As the holiday festivities unfold, it’s also a great time to review your insurance to ensure you’re covered for all the joy and surprises the season can bring. Whether you’re thinking about updating your home policy, adding a new vehicle, or exploring life insurance options, I’m here to make the process straightforward and stress-free.

Our office will be closed on Wednesday, December 24th and Tuesday, December 25th in observance of Christmas. You can still manage your policies, submit changes, and make payments anytime via the State Farm App. We’ll be back and ready to assist you on Friday, December 26th. Wishing you a joyful holiday season!

Tip of the Month:

Do you travel for the holidays or host gatherings? Double check your auto and home insurance policies to make sure your coverage puts you in a good position. Unexpected events can happen, but being prepared means less worry and more time to enjoy the season.

Who I Am:

I’m Leah Barwick, a Sumter native, Clemson grad, and someone who’s deeply passionate about protecting people in all stages of life. Opening my own State Farm office is more than just a career milestone, it’s the realization of a purpose I’ve carried for years: to serve the community and people that shaped me into who I am today.

After graduating from Clemson University with a Bachelor of Science, I dove headfirst into the insurance world, where I quickly discovered that this business is really about people. It’s about being a steady hand when the unexpected happens -- whether that’s a fender bender, a house fire, or the loss of a loved one. I’ve built my office to be a place where honesty, empathy, and education lead every conversation.

I’m proud to offer Auto, Home, Renters, Life, and more — all tailored to the unique needs of individuals and families in Sumter, SC and the surrounding communities. From first-time drivers to retirees downsizing, I love helping people feel confident and protected every step of the way.

When I’m not in the office, you can find me with my dogs, spending time with family and friends, hunting, or working in the garden. I also love cheering on Clemson, supporting local businesses, and grabbing coffee with new and old friends alike.
